quote1 For my boyfriend and I, our journey with Peek-A-Boo started at a local gas station!

After finding out I was pregnant, my boyfriend and I decided we wanted to make our first pregnancy something to remember. I had heard about 3D ultrasounds and thought that would be a perfect way to cherish my pregnancy.....but I wasn't to sure where and how to get these ultrasounds done.

On our way to go shopping in Niagara Falls, we spotted a van at a gas station with a big 3D advertisement on the door. I had to go and ask the woman about the ultrasounds. This is how I met Karrie and found out about Peeka-Boo! I was especially interested when I was told about the trimester challange......3 separate viewings of my baby as he is growing and developing.

My first appointment was when I was 17 weeks pregnant, and I was so amazed at how I could see the early development of my baby. The experience was so welcoming, and I felt very comfortable and cared for during my 3D ultrasound.

By the time my second appointment came, my baby looked so much more like a baby! I was shocked at how much had changed in a few weeks time. I was glad Karrie gave me the oppritunity to watch my baby grow....literally!

At my final ultrasound I was pleased to see major changes from my first ultrasound, my babies hand and feet moving, the many different facial expressions. I was so glad to have been able to experience these ultrasounds.

On November 30th/2009, 6 days before my due date, my son Randall Robert-Shawn Levesque was born. Weighing 7lbs 7oz at 5:35pm at St. Joesph’s Hospital, Hamilton. When Randall was born he was absolutely perfect, and looking just like his 3D photos! When we brought Randall home from the hospital he was an absolute joy to have around. Very alert and surprisingly quiet for the most part. He has been very good at night, and is a very social boy with a lot of family and friends who love quote2him very much. We couldn’t have asked for a better pregnancy, a better ultrasound experience, and a better baby boy!

Thank you Peek-A-Boo for an amazing journey!!!

Introducing Riley Cole Stewart

quote1 Riley was born on October 31st at 5:47 am, receiving his first nickname- pumpkin.

Brian and I had been married two years when we decided to start trying to have a baby. When it was time to do a pregnancy test we did it together. I was not allowed to look until he was right there beside me. Our first test was not a dark pink so we decided to wait until the next day first thing in the morning. Low and behold it was the same so we both agreed that we would take that as a positive and make the doctors appointment to confirm.

A few months into or pregnancy we were able to feel Riley moving around. We new by this point that it was a boy and had chosen Riley Cole as his name. I wanted to know the sex of the baby so that I could call him by name throughout the pregnancy. The movements were beyond amazing. It is hard to explain the feeling to your partner. When Brian could finally feel him move he became even more excited. Pregnancy is not something that a man will ever experience so sharing each moment and trying to explain things to the best of your ability helps them to feel a close connection from the beginning, but nothing could compare to the experience of the 3D ultrasound!

We invited Brian’s parents, grandmother, brother and his bother’s girlfriend to have the first view of Riley (My family lives out of town). At first I was embarrassed about all the wonderful stretch marks I had earned throughout the pregnancy but that was all forgotten when we saw the first images of Riley to the sound of the Beatles lullabies. It was Extraordinary!

The 3d ultrasound brings the baby to life and you can feel even more love now that you have seen the actual baby rather than the seeing it on the regular 2D ultrasound. It brings the dad’s just that much closer to the baby, especially since they do not get to feel the baby moving all the time.

In the video and pictures, Riley kept his hands up near his face. I ate 2 peanut butter cups and drank orange juice to help get him moving, but apparently he does not like to perform. We shared all the pictures and video with anyone who would watch. Most had never seen such great technology and were in amazement.

In the past month we have watched Riley grow and become more aware. I definitely think that the maternity leave is not so much to teach them to grow and develop, but to WATCH them grow and develop. What a great country we live in to have such a gift. Getting used to the 3:00 am feeds is not always so easy, or sleeping when he sleeps. It’s hard to sleep when you know there is so much you could be doing. Brian gets up to help when he can. I will take the lack of sleep for this bundle of joy any time.

Riley weighed 8lbs 5 ounces when he was born. He now weighs 9lbs. We have documented the trek to the hospital on video, as well as captured many pictures. What a blessing it is to be able to have a child.quote2

Our pregnancy, the doctors’ visits, the 3D ultrasound, the delivery and every moment since has been fantastic. If we decide to have another child, we will definitely choose to do the 3D ultrasound again at Peeka-Boo! I See U!, hopefully bringing Riley so that he can experience the joy of seeing his brother or sister before they are born.

Thank you for such a great experience.

Michelle, Brian and Riley Stewart

quote1 My story is a little different than others.... I am the grandmother of Tiara . I'm a young grandmother, only 35 but very proud and never felt so much love and pride as I have being a part of this journey with my daughter.

Of course, the news of her pregnancy came as stress and shock but I gave her my unconditional support right from the beginning. I watched as Tiffany's belly grew bigger and went to all the doctor's appointments with her. I went to the ultrasounds at the hospital, especially the one where Tiara was not going to let us see what gender she was! Tiffany's sister Alisha wanted to give her a 3d ultrasound as a gift, so we booked the appointment with Peekaboo and waited anxiously.

I was not so sure I liked the thought of seeing the baby in 3d as some of the images I saw of others were a little creepy .. alien looking .. lol. With one look at my granddaughter on the screen, I was totally converted. How precious and sweet she looked as she layed there with her hands always around her face!

The images were so clear and so amazing (especially to see that she had my nose). That excited me so much! From that moment, for all of us that shared the ultrasound that day, we all thought "Hurry up and get here .. we want to hold you and meet you, Miss Tiara!"

And soon that day came. Tiffany woke me to tell me she was having bad pains every 5 min. We arrived at the hospital at 10 am and without pain medication.. my daughter delivered my precious granddaughter at 12:05 p.m. on September 24, 2009. She weighed 7lbs 3 oz. Pretty amazing!!!!

The truly amazing part of all of this was that I watched over the course of 48 hours how my little girl became a woman and a loving mother. How her demeanour changed! Her vocabulary expanded and she became a sponge (sucking up all the information she needed to know) and watched her apply it.

Tiara is such a wonderful baby. She still loves her hands in front of her face most of the time, especially while sleeping. And she is such a beautiful baby ... just like her ultrasound showed us already. Friends and family all around her love her so much and cant believe how pretty she is. quote2

Thank you Tiffany for giving me such a wonderful gift! Keep on being the amazing Mommy that you show me everyday and make me so proud to see!!!! I love you!

quote1 After a long 6 days overdue, we finally gave birth to our beautiful daughter Isla Raylene (pro-nounced “eye-la”) on August 9th, 2009. My husband and I had her at home with two midwives, my mother and a doula at our side. She was born at 2:34 pm after 13 hours of labour and weighed 6 lbs 10 oz. Even though it was difficult having her naturally without drugs, we were blessed that we had no complications. We were also shocked how alert she was when she was born! When they put her on my chest, seconds after her birth (in which my husband Bob helped deliver her!), she immediately opened her eyes and stared at us intensely. It was the most memorable moment of our lives.

When Isla was born, the first thing I thought was, “she DOES have chubby cheeks!”

I wasn’t surprised because our 3D ultrasound at Peek-a Boo! I See U! studio let us see her for the first time when I was 29 weeks pregnant. The owner, Karrie had mentioned back then how chubby her cheeks were!

It was amazing to see her so life-like, and it was this visit that she became “real” to us, especially to my husband. After our visit to Peeka-Boo, I watched the DVD many times and looked at the photos constantly, trying to imagine what she looked like. Even though my placenta was in the front, making it hard to get a good visual, Karrie was great at getting some amazing photos! I was so pleased! We brought my parents along and they were shocked at how good the quality was.

Even though we live 2.5 hours away from the studio, the trip to Niagara Falls was definitely worth it. quote2

Thank you very much for such a wonderful experience! When we have another baby someday, we will definitely be back again!

Our Baby Story

quote1

We were in for our 4D ultrasound on April 30th 2009.

Avery Maliah (pronounced Ma - Lee- ah) made her joyful appearance on July 7 2009, at 8:04 PM!

We were SOOOO thrilled to finally meet our baby girl!
The delivery was comparable to something out of a movie - I basically slept through the entire delivery!!! The doctor was clapping in front of my face, and flicking at my feet, trying to wake me to tell me to push. In just a few small - non eventful pushes, Avery decided to introduce herself. Our first baby!! what a wonderful experience!

Avery has been an angel - sleeping well - wonderful disposition - beautiful little girl! quote2

After having a miscarriage the previous summer - meeting Avery was that much more special! Avery has been the perfect baby - and a wonderful blessing to our family!

Our Baby Story

quote1 I first met my husband Steve through a friend when I was in college in 2002. We had been dating for a year and we moved in together. Steve proposed to me on Valentine's Day in 2005 and we were married in February 2008. Eight months after that I found out I was pregnant on Thanksgiving weekend. We were both so excited!

Well I first heard about "Peek a Boo" through a girl at work who was three months ahead of my pregnancy. She had such a wonderful experience so we decided to book an appointment. We had our ultrasound on March 18th. It went great except that she kept her hands in her face most of the time but we had some great pictures. We asked both Grandma's to join us in the experience. Karrie made it relaxed and peaceful. I would definitly go back for the next child.

For the most part my pregnancy was great. Two days before I gave birth I was sleeping almost 10 hours a night! I just kept as busy as possible.

My water broke at 3:30am on June 17th. I woke up Steve and he asked if he could have a coffee before we left! So we just sat and relaxed before we went. We arrived at the hopital around 5:30am and I was at 3cm. By 11:00am I was at 7cm and I asked for an epidural. By 1:00pm I was at 10cm but she wasn't dropping so they let me wait it out a bit and if she wouldn't drop I would go for an emergency c-section. By 3:30pm I started pushing and at 5:06pm Katie Lynn was born. She weighed 7lbs 15oz and was 20 1/2 inches.

Because she was in the birth canal so long she wasn't breathing and was blue when she came out which was the scariest thing. But she is doing well now. She had jaundice too so we were at the hospital an extra day.

She is the most perfect baby. She sleeps all night and usually gets up between 3am and 4 am to feed. I am breast feeding and that is going wonderfully. It was difficult the first week adjusting. I spent the first week crying everyday all day! Steve adjusted very well right from the beginning and he has been a wonderful Dad. He also was able to enjoy Father's Day with her. quote2My Mom is the most supportive and I am so lucky to have her. She comes over everyday after work to give me an hour to do what I need to get done (which is usually to prepare dinner) I couldn't ask for anything else!

Thank you again Karrie for our wonderful experience. We will always cherish my 3D pictures and so will Katie!

Our Story

quote1Tommy and myself were best friends who became lovers and when we found out that we would soon be parents we were SO very excited! When we went for our very first ultrasound together we were told that we would be having a little baby girl. OH a little girl, so sweet and innocent!! We were thrilled about a little girl as well as the rest of our family. My fiance's family, having three boys and no girls, were extreamly excited that a little girl would soon be joining the family!

We started to prepare ourselves for the arrival of our little girl who we had named "Ava Jaiden Tran Nguyen" . Planning a Baby Shower all pretty and pink, Decorating a nursery made special for a little girl, the room became filled with purple butterflies all over. We bought clothes for our little Ava even the outfit she would wear home for her very first time.

My pregnancy was challenging from the very beginning. I had been in and out of the hospital many times. I had already had 5 ultrasounds. Then I went into the hospital one day when I was very ill. They wanted to do another ultrasound to make sure that the baby was okay. I had been told on four different ultrasounds at four different times throughout my pregnancy that I would be having a girl.

I jokingly asked the Ultrasound Technician "Is my little girl still a little girl?" She then proceeded to say "I'm sorry but this is a little boy" I was in total shock! I was angry and hurt. How could FOUR different technicians tell you that you would be having a girl, and have someone else tell you differently? I was already 32 weeks at this time.

Thats when PEEK-A BOO came into play. As I was so unsure of what to think and believe, we decided to have a 3D ultrasound. Karrie was great. She was able to fit us in right away and was SO extremely friendly for the whole thing. She helped to make myself and family to see the truth ... that we would in fact, be having a little baby boy. Karrie demonstrated the different views of how we were seeing the ultrasound and made us very comfortable while we were there. Well it was true enough, we were 100% having a boy.

So now after re-doing the nursery to be fit for a little boy, having to rename him, plan a new baby shower, and start over with a whole new wardrobe, we were finally ready for our little boy's arrival.

After 27.5 hours of labour, Jayce Tai Kairsen Nguyen was here to join the world on May 12, 2009 @ 6:36 pm. He weighed 6lb 8oz. Jayce has been an amazing baby from day one. quote2He had a routine from the very first day, barely cries, is happy to be by himself or to be held. We have already taken him to dinner with us, and even to a drive in movie. Jayce has an adorable and great personality. He is so strong already. I wouldn't have wanted it any better than how we have it with our son. Life will never be the same, but then again its never been so GREAT!!!

"Our Fairytale"

quote1Once upon a time...Joe and I met in the year 2000, we dated until 2005 when we became engaged, bought a house in the spring of 2007 and in July we married.

In the months following our wedding we found out Joe's brother and girlfriend were pregnant. We were so happy that we were going to be an aunt and uncle. They decided to have a 3D ultrasound done, and we were able to see baby Francesco. This was the first time Joe and I had seen what a 3D ultrasound meant, and we were sure that when we got pregnant we would do the same. Time passed and Francesco was born in April of 2008, and we became a very proud zia and zio. Francesco won baby of the month at Peek-a-boo! showing how accurate the ultrasound pictures really were!

On the anniversary of our wedding I took an at home pregnancy test, which was positive! It was the best anniversary gift anyone could ask for, we were having a baby!

My pregnancy was very enjoyable, I had no morning sickness, actually, I felt healthier then ever before. I contacted Karrie at Peek-a Boo, and she booked me my ultrasound. The day finally came. Joe, my mother and I went to the ultrasound together. The baby was a stubborn little guy and didn't want to move very much, covering his face with his hands and feet. Karrie booked us a second ultrasound a week later, and gave me some tips and things I could do to get the baby moving for next time.

Excited to be able to see my baby in 3D a second time, I brought with me everything from pizza to chocolate to pop. After another period of poking and turning, and eating, baby was still relaxing comfortably with his hands and feet up by his face. When I say we tried everything, I mean we tried everything, Karrie wouldn't give up! I stood, I sat, turned one way then the other, walked around, went to washroom, ate bits of food that would normally get him going, and of course lot's of caressing my belly and poking. Nothing worked, he was content the way he was!

Even though he was a stubborn little guy, Karrie was able to get many great pictures of him (that totally resemble his appearance, and match his personality). At this ultrasound Karrie told me that he was lying in breech position, and at this stage it might be hard for him to turn before his due date, especially because his bum was squished tightly so low. This worried me a little, but was good information, and something I could bring to my OB's attention.

My pregnancy continued to be delightful. As the days got closer to March 29th, Joe and I grew more and more anxious to meet our 'little guy.' Five days before my due date I had an appointment with my OB. My exam was short.....although we thought the baby had turned, he didn't, and my OB felt feet meaning he was still in breech position. I was rushed down to ultrasound to confirm his position. I have never been so scared in my life! I was not expecting this news, and a c-section had to be performed that very day, because the exam could induce my labour and then I would need an emergency c-section. I was scheduled to be back at the hospital for 4pm, until then I was to go home and get things ready and relax......... My family and friends came over, we did a lot of crying, but mostly they all worked on assuring me that this was a good thing, I was going to finally meet him that very day, and that everything was going to be ok!

Our baby 'Marco Antonio Messina' was born on Tuesday March 24 at 6:40 pm, weighing 8lbs 7.5 ounces, 20.5 inchs long, via c-section. Thanks to such a great team of doctors and nurses, everything went smoothly with no complications! Marco adjusted very well to the outside world, and enjoyed meeting all of his special visitors. He quickly got into a feeding and sleeping routine, which works great for mommy and daddy!

At both of our 3D ultrasounds Marco was a stubborn little boy and hid from the camera, showing us mostly his muscles, fists, and BIG cheeks. Marco continues to pose for the camera showing us his muscles and fists, and as you can see his cheeks are accurately as BIG as the 3D ultrasound showed! He is such a bundle of joy, very happy, healthy, and playful. Joe always says he has a million-and-one facial expressions, and sounds. We are amazed by Marco everytime we look at him. He is just so perfect, and he has allowed us to feel a love that we have never felt before. We are enjoying holding him every second right now, and we are looking forward to all the milestones he will encounter. This is how we will live.... happily ever after!

Our 3D ultrasound experience was amazing, and we enjoy comparing our new photos with the ones from the ultrasound! Thank you for providing us with such a variety of pictures of Marco, and the opportunity to see what we could expect of our baby! Peek-a Boo not only gave us numerous photos, and a wonderful dvd video of our baby (which was enjoyed by all at my baby showers), but I also purchased a 'body cast kit' while I was there, which Joe molded for me. I had everyone at my baby showers sign the cast, and it is a very cherished keepsake for me.quote2

I would recommend this service to every woman who is expecting, it truly allows you, and your family to feel like you are at a whole new level with the baby before he is born. We have a friend who is pregnant and will be coming to see you soon.... hopefully we will be able to join her and let you meet Marco!

Enjoy & Thank you :)

quote1It all started when I was 20 years of age and was told that I would never be able to have kids.

I met my husband Rob when I was 22 years of age. He had 2 boys; Jeremy 6 and Joshua 5 that lived with him full time. Now Jeremy is 15 and Joshua is 14. It was perfect! I was an instant mom. I took on a big responsibility and raised the boys like they where my own.

Jeremy came to us 3 years ago and said "I want a BABY SISTER"! I couldn't do anything but laugh at him, because of what I was told when I was 20 and his dad had had a vasectomy. I did tell Jeremy I would see what I could do. I went on the internet and looked up vasectomy reversals and found Dr.Smith in Ajax. I made the call in February of 2007 and we went for a consultation in September 2007. The vasectomy reversal has only a 1:3 chance of working and with Rob having the vasectomy 13 yrs beforehand, it had a low chance of working. This operation cost $4000. It was always at the back of my mind; not being able to get pregnant and the operation not working 100%, but we went through with it anyways. The operation was in Ajax Friday Feb. 1 2008. Dr. smith came to the recovery room and told us that everything looked good.

Using my cycles and reading tons of books on how to get pregnant paid off. The first week of June 2008 I just knew I was pregnant. I was getting some cravings, my skin was very very soft and I was in a crazy, good mood. On Friday June 6th sitting at work I was very light headed and my co-worker's told me to take a pregnancy test. I had said "NO". When I got home Rob told me to do a test. I said "NO" again. But when the boys and Rob were out, I did the test. There were 2 lines! I started crying. I did not believe that test, so I did another an hour and a half after the first one and then 12 hours after that! There was no question I was pregnant. I called my doctor Monday morning and went to see him. I gave him those 3 pregnancy tests and with a big smile on his face he said "OMG Ruth you were determined." No doubt about it but this is a miracle.

This was considered a high risk pregnancy, I had a total of 7 medical ultrasounds and I was at the hospital every week since I was 31 weeks for non-stress tests to monitor the baby. Seeing the baby on all the ultrasounds was really neat, but nothing beats the experience of a 3d/4d ultrasound of your baby. Peeka-Boo! I See U! was the most memorable experience! We went at 24 weeks and 31 weeks. Both times, the baby was very shy hiding her face and cuddling to the placenta. She always had her hands by her face. It was really life; seeing your baby before it is born! We could tell with the 3d/4d ultrasound who the baby looked like. We now have 2 CD's and 2 DVD's of the baby before she was born and what a life time memories it will be for the baby when she gets older.

It all worked out that Jeremy got his wish 3 years later because on February 7, 2009 at 12:53pm Jazzmyn Helena Duffy entered into this world through an emergency c-section. She weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and was 19 3/4 in length. She is a cuddler, her hands are always close to her face and she looks exactly like the 3d/4d ultrasound. She is one happy little girl and is spoiled with love. I recommend to all my friends that are having baby's to go to Peeka-Boo! I See U! and get the 3d/4d ultrasound done because its a life long memory. quote2

Thank you again for making our experience unforgettable.

quote1 On my 30th birthday my friends all got together to give me the best surprise gift ever...they flew my best friend in from New Brunswick for a visit, and boy what a surprise that was. During her stay with us she became sick with the flu and after she left I became sick. My flu however, seemed to last forever and I blamed her for sharing. Of course I later found out that she had nothing to do with my "flu" as it was of the 9 month variety. I then had to eat my words and appologize as she clearly had nothing to do with my sickness.

After my first and second routine ultrasounds I became facinated with seeing my baby move and had seen an advertisement at my doctors office for the 3D/4D ultrasound.

My family and friends all enjoyed the experience in the clinic. We were all amazed at how clear and true to life we could see the baby, but it was after upon looking at the DVD recording for the second and third time that I really began to see what Karrie had pointed out during the actual ultrasound. In fact, the DVD changed my grandfathers whole perception of life before birth and he still hasn't stopped talking about how amazing the video was. I think that he knew that babies were alive inside the mother before birth, but he never really thought of them as being a "real live" baby before viewing this DVD.

Then, almost 2 weeks late, on December 3, 2008 after 14 hours of labour and then a c-section baby Zoe entered the world at 10:04 pm weighing 9lbs 3oz and measuring 19 inches long.

We were quite shocked at how much she actually looked like the ultrasound photos with her tiny little round head and chunky cheeks. She is also much like she was in the video personality wise with the consistent mouth and hand movements.

Visiting Peeka-boo! I See U! really pumps a person up for seeing their baby in "real life". It has now been a month since baby Zoe entered the world and to be quite honest I don't remember life without her.

Every day is a joy and she is such a happy baby, rarely crying except when hungry or uncomfortable. She is quite the little snuggler, but is also quite bright and alert. She is such a joy for our entire family.

Thanks once again for the wonderful experience, quote2 I would recommend this to anyone who is having a baby as it allows you to connect with your baby on a much deeper level before he/she is born.
